What Can I Expect During My Full Mouth Restoration Consultation?
Prepare for your upcoming full mouth restoration consultation.
Congratulations on making the decision to pursue a healthier smile with a full mouth restoration!
Full mouth restorations are a big undertaking, but rest assured that every step of the process is important for planning your best smile yet. After all is said and done, seeing your new smile for the first time will be a life-changing experience.
The first step in your journey is a consultation. Your consultation appointment will focus on meeting your dental team, learning what treatment options can help you, and creating a plan with your dentist.
Let’s take a closer look at what will happen during your consultation.
Meet the team that will be helping you.
The success of your full mouth restoration depends on the experience of your dental team. With a team of three highly skilled dentists and a number of knowledgeable staff members, Tomasik Family Dental knows exactly what to do.
Dr. Tomasik, Dr. Clor, and Dr. Meghpara are experts in their respective fields, which include restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and general dental care. All three dentists share deep compassion and love for their patients, just as if they were their own family members. This means every patient is treated as a member of Tomasik Family Dental, not just as a paying customer.
The Tomasik Family Dental staff is made up of 12 dental professionals who all share the same goal as the dentists: to make every patient feel welcomed, comfortable, and heard. You can virtually meet our office staff and dental assistants by checking out this page.
Evaluate your current oral health and jaw structure.
After you’ve been checked in by our office staff, a dental assistant will welcome you into one of our exam rooms. As with any other appointment, the assistant will update your health records, check in with how you’ve been doing, and give you a rundown of what the consultation will entail.
Your consultation will be similar to the initial evaluation you had as a new patient. This means you’ll be sitting through a few different X-rays and having a number of images taken. A full mouth restoration consultation requires your dentist to have as in-depth of a look as possible. Thanks to our high-tech office, getting these 3D images and X-rays is a very easy process.
Some of the advanced dental technology used by our dentists during this stage include the iTero Element 2 for goop-free digital modeling, a cone beam CT machine for 3D imaging, and a special intraoral camera that allows you to get an inside look into your own mouth.
Discuss your smile goals and treatment options.
After all images and X-rays have been taken, your dentist will go over the results with you. You’ll get to see how your teeth and jaw currently look while your dentist explains what he or she is seeing from a professional perspective. During this process, you’ll be encouraged to ask as many questions as you’d like.
Our main goal is for your new smile to be exactly what you want, so please fill us in on what areas of your smile bother you the most! The more we know about what you want, the better we can help you get those results.
Together, you and your dentist will talk about some of the different treatment options that can be incorporated into your restoration treatment plans. Your dentist will cover the use of dental implants for permanently replacing missing teeth, dental crowns for protecting weakened teeth, and perhaps even the use of veneers. Each full mouth restoration plan is uniquely designed for patients.
By the way, if the idea of a full mouth restoration leaves you feeling a bit nervous or anxious, we offer sedation dentistry. Depending on your comfort level as well as the treatment being done, your dentist will choose the right sedation option for your needs.
Lay the blueprints for your full mouth restoration.
The final part of your consultation is finalizing the treatment plan with your dentist, including planning a timeline for appointments and getting your first appointments booked.
In many cases, we can book all necessary appointments at once, but if you’re unsure of your schedule, we can also book your appointments as needed. It may come as a surprise, but thanks to advances in dental techniques and technology, many patients can be completely finished with their full mouth restoration in just three or four appointments.
Lastly, you’ll also get an estimate or quote for how much your full mouth restoration will cost. Our office staff can contact your dental insurance provider on your behalf to get as accurate of a quote as possible and ensure you’re getting as much covered as possible.
